Back in September, we had a little church BBQ at one of the nearby parks. We want to try to be more social in our new ward here, so we went to the BBQ hoping to meet some people & make some friends. Unfortunately, we spent the entire time chasing Aleta around. That girl will never stay where we want her to stay! She had no interest eating, or playing nearby... all she wanted to do was run as far away as she could from where we wanted to be. We ate as quickly as we could and then just left. It was too hard with Aleta running around everywhere!
On our way back to the car, we stopped at the playground to let the kids play. Aleta ran around for a little while, but once she discovered the slide, it was all she wanted to do. The girls had fun going down the slides together. I didn't get any good pictures, but at least you can see that they were having fun!
The Great Forest Park Balloon Race in St. Louis was the same day as our church picnic. I was bummed that they were at the same time, because I had really wanted to take the kids to see all the balloons. Naomi would have loved it! But lucky for us, as we were playing on the playground, we could see the balloons flying by!
We could see the balloons on the whole drive home, too. Naomi was so excited and kept watching and pointing to them out of her car window. We could even see some of them from our front yard when we got home! This was our view of the balloons from our front yard:
